Department of Mechanical Engineering
The Department of Mechanical Engineering was started in the year 2002. The department trains the students with the help of well qualified and experienced faculty members and modern laboratories.
To provide self-reliant student for the futuristic global needs of the engineering industry by educating with confidence to become professional mechanical engineers of excellent caliber.
To produce mechanical engineering technocrats by educating, preparing and mentoring students to excel as professionals and to grow throughout their careers and responsibilities of engineering with a perfect knowledge of intellectual and to inculcate the spirit of moral values and ethics to serve the society.
The B.E. Mechanical Engineering was started in the year
2002. The students are taught the
fundamental concepts of Thermal Science and Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and
Metallurgical Engineering. They are further trained towards cutting edge technologies like
Computational fluid Mechanics, Computer aided Manufacturing, Computer aided design,
Metrology and Measurements, Statistical techniques in modern manufacturing, Finite element
software analysis & methods, Industrial heat transfer, Design of machine elements, Design of
transmission system, Kinematics & Dynamics of machine, etc.
Apart from the regular curriculum, to make the students competent and ethical professionals
in Engineering & Technology various visiting professors from reputed corporate companies and
pioneer institutions are invited as Guest lecturers. Such training will enhance the
placement of students in corporate companies & IT industries.
The M.E. - Engineering Design was established in the year 2013. The Master of Engineering
Programme in Engineering Design is intended for engineering graduates of Mechanical
Engineering and its allied disciplines.
"Design" forms the core of any engineering discipline which emphasize the creation of
something new and Novel which make Human lives better than before.
This program provides the participants the knowledge and skills required to design newer and
future products, Research and Development services and Technologies.
ME (Engineering Design) programme empower the participants with strong fundamental knowledge
in Mechanical Engineering Design with Significant Innovation capabilities, Design Thinking
Competence and well sought Leadership skills.
The major subjects include: Design Concepts, Quality concepts in Design, Vibration studies,
Kinematic Analysis and Synthesis of various mechanisms, Computer Aided Design (Theory &
Practice) with state of art CAD/CAM software, Finite Element Analysis (Theory & Practice)
with latest Analysis packages and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly.
Department of Mechanical Engineering is well equipped with modern class rooms for teaching &
state of art laboratory facilities for practice.
A good mixture of well qualified and dedicated faculty members from various disciplines such
as thermal science, energy engineering, manufacturing engineering, plastic technology,
industrial engineering and design engineering etc., are available in the department.
Department is rigorously motivating its faculty and students towards possible Research and
development in various existing potential regions which will be fruitful to the society &
deployed one dedicated faculty for the R&D purpose.
Department has high ended modern equipment in laboratories such as,
Each class room is furnished with a Overhead Projector, one LCD projector, and a dedicated Laptop to support the e-Learning process. The class rooms are Wi-Fi enabled class rooms to support the e-Learning Initiative.
Department Library is well established with large volume of books including both national and international authors.
